In short
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking.
- Your conversation with Cledgy, our chat assistant, stays in your browser and is never sent to us or anyone else.
- We use what you send through the contact form, email or WhatsApp only to reply to you and to work with you.
- We never sell personal data, and we share it only with the providers that help us run the site and reply to you.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing support@cledgesolutions.com.
Who we are
Cledge Solutions ("we", "us") is a technology company with its head office at Kumasi, Soldiers Barracks (Complex), Ghana (GhanaPost GPS AK-222-6789). We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice, which means we decide how and why it is used.
We work with organisations in Ghana, the United Kingdom and other countries, so this notice is written to meet the main data protection laws that apply to us and to the people we deal with. These include Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 2013 (POPIA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. Where the law where you live gives you more protection than this notice describes, that law applies.

What this notice covers
This notice covers this website (cledgesolutions.com), Cledgy, our contact form, and messages you send us by email, telephone or WhatsApp.
It does not cover the data our clients keep in the CLEDGE platforms or in other systems we build or run for them. For that data the client is the controller and we act as their processor, under our agreement with them. Websites we link to, including the news publishers in our Insights section, have their own privacy policies.
What we collect, why, and our legal basis
| Information | When | Why we use it | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your name, email address, optional phone number and country, the subject you choose and your message | When you send the contact form | To reply to you, discuss your needs, prepare a proposal and keep a record of what was agreed | Steps you ask us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries |
| What you tell us by email, telephone or WhatsApp | When you contact us directly | As above | As above |
| Technical data: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time | On every visit, in our hosting provider's server logs | To deliver the website, keep it secure and investigate misuse | Our legitimate interest in running a secure website |
| Signals that tell a person from a bot, such as browser and device characteristics | When the human check on the contact form loads | To stop spam and automated abuse of the form | Our legitimate interest in protecting the form |
| What you type to Cledgy | When you chat with Cledgy | To answer you. Cledgy runs entirely in your browser, so the conversation never reaches us | None needed: we do not receive it |
Please do not send us passwords, payment card details or sensitive information such as health, religious or political details through the website. If a project needs such data, we will agree a secure way to handle it with you first.
We do not use personal data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not make decisions about you by automated means, including profiling, that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. It keeps a few small items in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab:
| Item | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
| cledge-preloaded | Remembers that the opening animation has played, so it is not shown on every page | Until you close the tab |
| cledgy-opened | Remembers that you have opened the chat, so its reminder dot is not shown again | Until you close the tab |
| cledgy-thread | Keeps your conversation with Cledgy if you reload the page. It is never sent anywhere | Until you close the tab, and never more than 2 hours |
| cledge-contact-draft | Keeps what you typed in the contact form while you choose a different service | Until the form puts it back, and never more than 30 minutes |
These items exist only for features you use, so they are strictly necessary and need no consent under the EU ePrivacy rules or the UK's PECR. Two features provided by others work differently:
- The human check on the contact form, provided by hCaptcha, may store data in your browser to tell people from bots. It loads only on the contact page and is needed to protect the form.
- The map on the contact page is provided by Google and loads only when you choose to show it. Until then, no request is made to Google.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with providers that help us run the website and reply to you, and only as much as each one needs:
- Hostinger, our hosting, content delivery and email provider, which stores the website, its server logs and our mailbox.
- Web3Forms, which delivers contact form messages to our mailbox.
- hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc.), which provides the human check on the contact form.
- Google, only if you choose to show the map on the contact page.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to message us on WhatsApp, where WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to a successor if our business is reorganised. In each case the same protections continue to apply.
International transfers
We are based in Ghana, and our providers run servers in other countries, including in the European Union and the United States, so your data may be processed outside the country where you live. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on adequacy decisions or on our providers' contractual commitments, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, where they are offered.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months after our last contact, so we can continue the conversation, then deleted.
- Enquiries that lead to a contract: for as long as the contract runs, and then for as long as the law requires us to keep business, tax and accounting records.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security, then deleted.
- Items in your browser: as described under Cookies above.
How we protect it
We protect personal data with measures appropriate to the risk, guided by international standards such as ISO/IEC 27001. They include encrypted connections (TLS 1.2 or 1.3) for every page and form, a strict content security policy that blocks injected scripts, bot protection on the contact form, access to enquiries limited to the people who need it, and regular security testing.
No system is completely secure. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires. To report a security issue, see our security contact file.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights. Using them is free, and we will reply within one month, or sooner if your law requires.
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your data when we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it.
- Restriction and objection: ask us to limit how we use your data, or object to uses based on our legitimate interests.
- Portability: ask for the data you gave us in a common electronic format.
- Withdrawing consent: where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- California residents: we do not sell or share personal information, and we will never treat you differently for using your rights.
To use any of these rights, email support@cledgesolutions.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will tell you if a legal exception applies.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work, or where you think the problem happened, for example:
- Ghana: the Data Protection Commission
- United Kingdom: the Information Commissioner's Office
- European Union: your national data protection authority
- Nigeria: the Nigeria Data Protection Commission
- Kenya: the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner
- South Africa: the Information Regulator
- California: the California Privacy Protection Agency
Children
Our website and services are for organisations and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and we will draw attention to significant changes on this page.
